What it is

Breasts are one of the most important features of the female body. Age, breastfeeding, pregnancy, heredity and weight fluctuations can cause them to lose their firmness and sag. Breast Lift surgery, also known as Mastopexy, can be performed to lift the tissues and reposition the nipple in order to restore a full, uplifted and youthful look.

Mastopexy can greatly improve:

  • The size and position of the breasts

  • The degree of sagging

  • The size and shape of the areolae

Options

Breast Lift surgery is commonly performed in combination with other surgeries such as the “Mommy Makeover”, where the Mastopexy, Abdominoplasty and Liposuction are performed on the same day.

Approximate duration of surgery:

3 hours

Anesthesia

Mastopexy is best performed under general anesthesia.

Post-Op Care

Mastopexy is a day surgery. You can therefore return home the night of your surgery and for the remainder of your recovery Dr Rizis will see you within the first 5 to7 days to remove bandages as well as to assess your scars and healing. Recovery continues for a few weeks until the swelling has significantly subsided. Most patients resume normal activities such as work, driving, and showering within the first 10 to 15 days.

Potential Risks & Complications

Although unlikely, all surgical procedures pose potential health risks. During the pre-operative consultation, Dr Rizis will go over all possible risks and complications as well as pertinent procedure information.
